Kentucky Lake was born in 1944 after
the completion of Kentucky Dam. The
Dam itself is 206 feet high and 8,422 feet
long and is used to help control floods on
the lower Ohio and Mississippi Rivers.
Kentucky Lake is the largest manmade
lake in the eastern United States drawing
in millions of visitors each year.
Kentucky Lake's neighbor, Land Be-
tween the Lakes, offers a variety of recre-

experience just about anything: take a

planetarium or observe wildlife at the na-
ture center. You can also visit The Home-
place or spend the day hiking or biking
through the wilderness. Either way, there
is something that every member of the
family will enjoy.
